I’m a Celebrity looks set for North Wales return due to Australian Covid situation
Hit ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here looks set to return to North Wales for the second year in a row, according to reports this morning.
Gwrych Castle near Abergele played host to last year’s series and proved a popular host venue with viewers, celebrities and hosts Ant and Dec.
Producers had been hoping for a return to Australia this year but the Covid situation Down Under is understood to have made travel arrangements difficult.
Several news sources have today quoted I’m a Celebrity sources as saying that the programme will be filmed at Gwrych Castle for the second year running.
The news will no doubt come as a boost to the trust which is behind the restoration of the Gothic ruin, as well as the local economy.
North Wales MS Sam Rowlands, who is also a trustee, said on Twitter: “Fantastic to see that @imacelebrity will be returning to @Gwrych_Castle following last year’s great success.
“Proud to be a trustee here and looking forward to welcoming @antanddec back to beautiful North Wales!”
