A fisherman had to be stretchered off a beach after falling and suffering a serious knee injury.

The Llandudno Coastguard, Welsh Ambulance Service and Conwy lifeboat were all called at around 7am this morning to help the man who slipped on a groyne (low sea wall) at Llandudno’s West Shore.

The man was put onto a stretcher before being taken towards the West Shore car park by lifeboat.

He was then carried up the beach before being transferred into a waiting ambulance to be taken to hospital.
