Firefighters have been called to tackle a gorse blaze in Holyhead with residents urged to keep their windows shut.

Reports were received at just before 12.45pm this afternoon of approximately 400 sqm of gorse on fire at Porthdafarch Road.

The fire has reportedly occurred in an area known locally as Cae Bog with three crews from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service in attendance.

It comes as temperatures in the town are expected to peak in the mid to high 20s (Celsius) today.

Although not as warm as places in the north east of Wales, fire services have warned of the increased risk of wildfires across the country in the coming days due to the hot and dry conditions.

The pictures shown have been shared with North.Wales by Facebook user Alis Max and the video by Jipsee Paranormal on Twitter.
