Drug driver caught out after being stopped over faulty light in Denbighshire

A drug driver in North Wales was caught out after being stopped over a faulty light.

Police stopped the man, who was driving a Ford Transit van, on St Asaph Business Park yesterday morning.

Officers spotted the van shortly after 9.30am and pulled the driver over to have a word, leading to him positive for cocaine at the roadside.

It also transpired the he had been disqualified from driving and was uninsured.

He was arrested and taken to custody where he refused to provide a further sample.

The 37-year-old, who is from the Betws-y-Coed area, will now have to explain his actions in court after he was charged with driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He is due to appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court on June 2nd.
