A recovery truck driver has been arrested after lying to police in Rhyl about his identity.

Officers stopped the man whilst he was driving in the town last night and for more than an hour he wouldn’t tell them who he was.

When arrested he eventually told them his real name.

It was then discovered that the man was a disqualified driver who had no insurance.

Police said he had driven to Rhyl to recover a car.

In a post on Facebook, they advised him to “leave it to the experts” in future.
