A dispersal order has been issued in Prestatyn following an escalation in anti-social behaviour.

Police have taken action after reports of youths involved in criminal damage and public order offences at the town’s retail park last night (Tuesday June 11th).

One teenager was arrested on suspicion of a hate-related public order offence and has since been bailed with conditions.

The dispersal order covers the area outlined on the map above and will remain in place until 7.30pm on Thursday (June 13th).

It allows police officers to direct anyone to leave the area if they believe they have committed, or are likely to commit, anti-social behaviour.

Temporary Inspector Ben Garnett said: “We recognise the detrimental impact incidents like these have on the community and local businesses.

“Enquiries are ongoing with the to identify all of those involved. If you have any information that could assist us or may have dash cam or video footage of the incident, please contact us.

“I’d like to thank the community for their quick reports and assistance whilst the incident was ongoing.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days to deter any further incidents of anti-social behaviour and disorder.

“Anyone with information that could assist our enquiries should contact police via our website, by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers, quoting reference 24000519995.”
