Dedicated police officers will be deployed to a village in Gwynedd following a surge in burglaries.

North Wales Police said measures will be implemented in Llanberis from tonight (Tuesday, 23 July) to provide reassurance to residents after a recent spate of incidents.

In a statement released on Facebook, the police force emphasised its zero-tolerance stance on burglary.

It said: “It goes without saying that burglary is heinous crime that won’t be tolerated by the Gwynedd North policing district.

“Part of our approach will be to make the area as hostile as possible for the minority within our communities who are intent on committing crimes that cause hardworking businesses and families so much heartache.

“Please note, that if you are out and about and intent on committing crime, then our officers we will make it their business to proactively engage with you and where required, seek to arrest, investigate, and convict.”
