A North Wales MP has changed his mind about standing down at the next General Election.
Clwyd West Conservative member David Jones had said he was not going to run again.
But he told the Local Democracy Service that the snap election planned for December 12 has made him think again.
The former Secretary of State for Wales and Brexit minister said: “The position is that I have been asked by a number of members of my association to stand.
“I have also had a number of constituents who have asked me to stand.
“I am particularly keen to ensure that I’m in the House at the time that Brexit is ultimately delivered because I have spent the best part of the last four years concentrating on Brexit and I had hoped that it would have been concluded by the time I had left.
“Because of what has happened over the last few weeks clearly that is not going to be the case.
“So I want to come back to help deliver Brexit.”
He added: “It is an undertaking but clearly it’s very encouraging to know the association wants me to continue which is frankly quite touching. It is a tough job but I feel healthy and strong and I am looking forward to serving Clwyd West.”
