A total of 11 McDonald’s drive-thru restaurants have reopened in North Wales this morning, resulting in long queues in some areas.

Staff have asked customers to be patient as people rush to get their fix of fast food after branches closed when lockdown began.

A video has already been published showing traffic backing up at Chirk McDonald’s in Wrexham.

Traffic Wales has encouraged people to consider going at quieter times to avoid causing problems.

Broughton McDonalds earlier today.

The Welsh Government’s traffic information service said: “With more drive-thrus starting to open across the network, please be aware nearby roads are likely to get busier which could be a hazard for road users.

“To help reduce the risk to yourself & others, please consider going at a quieter time to avoid queues.”

A post has also been shared on Facebook attributed to a woman who has family working at the Bangor McDonald’s branch.

It states: “It is likely to be manic here today. Traffic is likely to be huge, menus are minimal, it’s drive through only, there’s bound to be mistakes made.

“If you are a customer feeling the pressure on approaching the window, remember that the money making franchise owner won’t be present.

“His staff can only do what is put in front of them. Be nice to them, understand their stressful position, they are only doing their job! Say please and thank you.”
