A boy had to be rescued this afternoon after getting stuck in the mud off the coast of Anglesey while he was on holiday.

The Beaumaris Lifeboat, Bangor and Rhyl coastguard teams and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident at the end of Beaumaris Pier at around 3.45pm today.

The child was found to be up to his knees in mud by the lifeboat crew who quickly freed him before he was handed over to the Welsh Ambulance Service for assessment.

The coastguard said the boy was “fine and just a little dirty” and wished him well for the rest of his vacation.
