A man from Bangor has been jailed for four years and 10 months for biting off a large part of another man’s ear.

Jack Daniel Jones, 19, of Tan Y Bryn Road, Maesgeirchen, Bangor carried out the attack in a row about his ex-partner.

He pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and was sentenced today.

Speaking after sentencing, Detective Constable Mark Williams said: “This was a completely unprovoked and violent attack which has resulted in serious life changing injuries and continues to be a deeply traumatic experience for the victim to have to go through.

“That the defendant used such extreme violence towards the victim is beyond belief and we’re pleased to see this dangerous individual being removed from the community as a result of this heinous crime.”
