Police are appealing for information after churches on Anglesey have been targeted by burglars over recent months.

The latest incident is believed to have occurred sometime between January 10th and 18th at St Mary’s Church in Tal y Llyn, Ty Croes, where damage was caused and cash was taken from a recently installed donations box.

Similar incidents have occurred at the same location sometime between 20th and 22nd October 2020 and during the first lockdown in May 2020.

A church at Llanbeulan was also targeted sometime during May 2020, where the donation box was smashed and cash was taken.

PCSO Carwyn Gilford from the local policing team said: “Both churches are owned by Friends of Friendless Churches based in London and are kept open to the public, so we are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed unusual behaviour around both locations to contact us.

“Stealing and causing damage to a church is a despicable crime and I would urge members of the public to keep their eyes open to any suspicious behaviour, particularly around isolated locations at night.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact officers on 101 or via the live web chat by quoting reference numbers 21000036550 and 21000038206.
