Seven new units planned for Bryn Cefni Industrial Park

Plans have been unveiled to build new industrial units in the heart of Anglesey, which could provide a post-Covid employment boost.

An application has been submitted for seven such units at a currently empty plot on the Bryn Cefni Industrial Park, covering almost 8,000 square metres.

Submitted by Port Properties Ltd, the supporting documents note: “The typical end user envisaged are business uses requiring relatively small but flexible floorspace for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s).

“There is an identified demand in the market for units to meet the needs of SME’s, and this proposal seeks to contribute towards meeting this demand in Llangefni.

“The units are considered suitable as starter units for small businesses, being flexible to accommodate growth, contributing towards encouraging economic growth locally.”

The site in question is sandwiched between units currently taken up by CL Jones, Mona Lifting and Faun Trackway, and accessed thanks to the recently opened Llangefni Link Road.

The application said: “The proposal helps to secure the development of sustainable communities, through the promotion of the economic, social and environmental well-being of the area with approximately a significant number of jobs created as a direct consequence of the development, with the added economic benefits of employment during the construction phase.

“In light of the foregoing, it is considered that the proposed development should be supported and the economic benefits secured for the site and Llangefni.”
It’s expected that Anglesey Council’s planning department will consider the application over the coming months.
