The North Wales Police Rural Crime Team have launched an appeal this evening after a grim discovery in a field in Anglesey.

Police have issued the below image of a sheep that was “found dying” in a field in the Maenaddwyn area on Saturday into Sunday.

The rural officers said, “Unusually the animal had both ears removed, very cleanly”.

“We await post mortem result.”

The incident has been described as a “strange occurrence”.

They added they wanted information from the public, “we need that call”. Any information can be called through to police via the 101 number or the online webchat facility on the North Wales Police website.

The below picture has been published by police, with a note that they have changed it to black and white “due to its graphic nature in colour”.
