Armed officers were deployed to an address in Holyhead yesterday evening.

Police have said today that officers were “investigating a serious allegation” at an address and a male suspect was detained.

Chief Inspector Jon Bowcott said: “I understand that the deployment of armed officers can both create interest and cause concern.

“I would like to reassure the residents of Holyhead that there is no ongoing risk to the public.

“A male was detained at an address in Holyhead without incident. It would be inappropriate to make any further comment at any time as investigations are ongoing.”
