Abergwyngregyn hit by flooding for second time in recent months as river bursts banks
A village in Gwynedd has been hit by flooding for the second time in two months after heavy downpours hit the region.
Residents reported that the river in Abergwyngregyn had burst its banks this morning following persistent rain across North Wales over the weekend.
One farmer in the village is said to be missing at least ten sheep as a result of the flooding.
Three flood warnings are currently in place in the area, including the North Gwynedd, Glaslyn and Dwyryd and Anglesey catchment areas.
Natural Resources Wales said river levels in all three locations were above normal levels and it would continue to monitor the situation.
An amber weather warning for heavy and persistent rain has been in force for North Wales for the majority of the weekend.
It comes after Storm Alex brought heavy rain to much of the UK, increasing the risk of flooding and travel disruption.
