Two men have been jailed for an unprovoked attack in Bangor

At Llandudno Magistrates Court today, Benjamin Carl Crofts, 23, and Jack Daniel Jones, 18, both from Bangor were each sentenced to 26 weeks in prison for assault.

The incident happened on May 28th in Upper Bangor, while a 26-year-old man was targeted whilst walking to the shop.

Crofts and Jones tried to provoke him into a fight, and when he tried to walk away one of them threw a drink in his face.

They then started punching him and when he fell to the floor, continued to punch and kick him.

The victim sustained various injuries including bruising and swelling to his face, neck, knees and elbows.

Gwynedd North Support Sgt, Chris Hargrave, said: “This behaviour will not be tolerated. We will support victims of crime and seek to prosecute those committing violent offences.

“This was a senseless act of violence which was fuelled by intoxication.

“We are grateful for the support of the community and I hope this sends a message to the small minority who behave in such an antisocial manner.”
