The family of a man who died following a crash on the A499 near Gyrn Goch last Friday have paid tribute to him.

74-year-old Eric Bergqvist, who was local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision which involved a Blue Kia Sportage.

His family have issued the following tribute to him: “Dad, grandad, partner, family member or friend. However, you knew him; Eric was an amazing treasure to have in your life and everyone is deeply shocked by his sudden loss.

“His grandchildren cannot imagine never being able to see their beloved Taid again and his partner Gretta says he was her anchor and she doesn’t know what she will do without him.

Daughter Sherrin said: “My brothers and I are completely devastated. He was my best friend and inspiration. None of our lives will ever be complete again.”

The investigation into the cause of the collision is underway and officers continue to appeal for witnesses.

They are also asking anybody who may have been travelling between Gyrn Goch and Trefor on Friday evening and who may have dash cam footage to contact them.

Anybody with information is urged to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or via the live web chat quoting reference 21000110023.
