North Wales news and information

Two youths were arrested on Monday night following a report of a burglary in Prestatyn. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

Police were contacted shortly after 10.30pm to a report that a silver Mercedes had been stolen from outside a property on Chapel Road. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

Roads policing officers and local teams attended and the vehicle was located a short while later using automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) technology and was brought to a stop. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

The occupants, a 16-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft and taken to custody. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

They have since been released on bail whilst colleagues from CID officers investigate further. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “Were you in the area of Chapel Road last night? Did you witness suspicious behaviour? If so please contact us on 101 or via the website by quoting reference number 23000214999.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌
