Police are appealing for information after a sheep was killed after suffering “horrific” injuries in a dog attack near Llanrwst.

The attack on the blue texel ram is believed to have happened near Nant Conwy Rugby Club at some stage between Sunday (June 12th) and the early hours of Monday morning.

The injuries suffered by the animal were considered too graphic to publish by officers as part of their appeal.

Members of North Wales Police’s rural crime team said: “We have taken photographs of the animal and swabbed for DNA , the injuries however are so horrific that we have decided not to circulate the photographs.

“We are appealing for any information that may be able to help in identifying the dog responsible.

“This was an appalling attack on what was a magnificent animal and will have a massive implication on the farmer in respect of his breeding stock

“We would be grateful for any help with this investigation.”
