A man from Rhyl has been jailed for more than five years for drugs offences.

Barry Downings has been convicted for possession of cocaine and heroin in both July 2019 and May 2020.

The 41-year-old was sentenced to five years and four months in prison as police issued a warning to people involved in supplying drugs.

Civilian Investigator Helen Thorneycroft said: “We welcome the sentence which reinforces our commitment to making North Wales the safest place in the UK.

“The most important thing to remember is that these drugs have been taken off the streets of North Wales.

“We will relentlessly pursue those who cause harm in our communities through being concerned in drug supply.

“These offences often come with violence and blight the communities we police.”
