Residents evacuated as firefighters tackle two blazes in Bangor and Tregarth

The fire service said, “Bangor Mountain fire is now under control and residents are able to safely return to their properties..Firefighters are damping down at this evening’s Tregarth fire. Fires like this put lives in danger & tremendous pressure on our resources. Please be responsible ”

UPDATE: North Wales Fire and Rescue service have said residents in the nearby vicinity of the fire at Bangor Mountain are being evacuated as a precaution as firefighters deal with the incident.

Hendrewen Road is currently closed by police.

Residents living in Bangor and Tregarth are being urged to close their windows as firefighters tackle two blazes.

Crews are currently in attendance at a fire in the open in Tregarth, as well as on Bangor Mountain, both of which are causing big plumes of smoke.

Police have also closed off Hendrewen Road in Bangor while the incidents are ongoing and are encouraging people to avoid the area.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters are currently attending a fire in the open in Tregarth which is causing some smoke in the area.

“Local residents are advised to close windows and doors whilst we are dealing with the incident.”

They also issued similar advice regarding the Bangor Mountain fire.
