Police have condemned “mindless damage” caused to an emergency response vehicle on Anglesey.

Officers said it was vandalised last night in Holyhead resulting in two youths, aged 15 and 17 being arrested on suspicion of criminal damage this morning and taken into custody in Caernarfon..

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

District Acting Inspector Ian Roberts said: “Ultimately this is senseless damage which will remove the emergency vehicle from service until public money be used to repair.

“We simply cannot afford to have our 999 vehicles out of service at any time, particularly during the summer period.

“If the Holyhead community have information regarding this incident or may have witnessed the incident, please contact us via 101 or via the North Wales Police webchat, quoting 20000508554.”
