Police have issued a response following reports of youths dealing and using drugs in restaurants in Rhyl.

People in the town have been experiencing ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour in recent months.

North Wales Police has now made details public of the latest issue where youngsters are taking drugs in local eateries.

Officers have said they are taking the issue seriously and are seeking the public’s help to identify offenders.

In a post on Facebook, the local policing team for the Denbighshire coastal and Abergele area said: “We are receiving numerous reports from local businesses and members of the public regarding the ongoing issues with teenagers in Rhyl town and surrounding area.

“Just recently, we have had information stating that some of these youths are dealing and using drugs in the local eating establishments.

“The youths are well known to North Wales Police and are being dealt with accordingly, however, we also depend on information from the public too.

“If you witness this kind of behaviour, then report it immediately to a member of staff, who will then contact the police.

“North Wales Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and will actively seek out repeat offenders and deal with them robustly. All persons identified will then be barred from that location.

“Any information regarding large groups of youths causing issues, please contact us via our webchat or by using the 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
