Police have issued a statement in response to recent social media rumours regarding the attempted abduction of three youngsters in the Caernarfon area.

Having thoroughly investigated the circumstances, officers said they are satisfied that no attempted abduction took place.

Furthermore, they added there was no cause for ongoing concern for the community.

Inspector Arwel Hughes said: “We would encourage the public to always report any such incidents directly to the police, rather than speculating on social media, as this can raise anxieties unnecessarily, as well as causing a delay in us investigating.”
