Police dog helps flush out drugs from Anglesey pubs and clubs as customers make sudden toilet dash
A police dog has helped to flush out drugs from pubs and clubs on Anglesey after carrying out a series of spot checks.
Officers visited a number of licensed premises on the island on Friday evening accompanied by search dog PD Jura.
Upon arriving at the night spots, they said some customers developed a “sudden urge” to go to the toilet.
A total of ten stop-searches were carried out during the operation, resulting in three positive results for drugs.
Local police said: “Unfortunately, a few names have been added to Santa’s naughty list following visits to licensed premises on Friday evening, accompanied by our drugs dog, PD Jura.
“The team began their visits in Menai Bridge onto Llanfairpg, Gaerwen, Bodedern and finally Holyhead.
“Surprisingly, a few customers felt the sudden urge to go to the toilets upon seeing us. Ten stop searches were conducted, with three positive results for drugs
“We continue to work in partnership with licenced premises and will be returning in the near future. Thank you to staff and community members who gave us a warm welcome and were happy to engage with our checks.”
They added: “Drugs will not be tolerated in our communities. If you have any information concerning drugs in your area, report it to police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
