Pilot rescued after helicopter suffers mechanical failure over North Wales

A pilot had to be rescued after his helicopter suffered a mechanical failure in the skies over North Wales.

Mountain rescuers were alerted after a private helicopter malfunctioned near Llanfachraeth.

Fortunately the pilot was able to to find flat ground near the summit of Rhobell Fawr in Snowdonia.

Members of the South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team came to his aid last Saturday (August 25, 2021).

On arrival they found the man was shaken but had only suffered minor injuries.

He was taken off the mountain with the assistance of a coastguard helicopter.
