Man suffers serious injuries after crash on A5 in Conwy county
A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the A5 between Pentrefoelas and Cerrigydrudion yesterday.
North Wales Police said the man’s injuries were “possibly life-threatening” after attending a report of a collision between a Vauxhall Corsa and Mitsubishi vehicle at around 4.15pm.
The driver of the Corsa was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by ambulance but has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke due to the nature of his injuries.
Sergeant Jason Diamond is appealing for witnesses to come forward. He said: “I am urging anybody who may have been travelling between Pentrefoelas and Cerrigydrudion around the time of the collision and who may have witnessed the incident, or anybody who may have dash cam footage, to contact us as soon as possible.”
The road was closed to allow the force’s forensic collision investigation unit to make initial enquiries and it re-opened shortly after 10.30pm.
