A lost walker was rescued after getting stuck in deep snow on a mountain in North Wales.

Members of the Aberdyfi Rescue Team received a call at around 12pm yesterday to reports a man had got lost on his way down from the summit of Cader Idris and was struggling with the conditions.

The 41 year-old-man, an overseas visitor staying with relatives locally after becoming stranded by the current lockdown, was then found by chance by a rescue team-member already out exercising on the mountain.

The team said he was cold, but otherwise uninjured, and was escorted down off the mountain, where he was picked up by his family.
