A lorry driver has been arrested for drug driving after his vehicle was seen swerving on the A55.

Police received reports yesterday of a HGV swerving between lanes on the eastbound carriageway near Penmaenmawr.

The vehicle was found and stopped a short while later and the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after testing positive for cocaine.

He has since been released pending further investigation as police await the return of forensic results.

Roads policing officers from North Wales Police have thanked members of the public for reporting the incident.

They said: “Keep reporting these types of incidents to us – it really does make a difference.”
