Lifeboat team called to rescue two women cut off by tide on island in Menai Strait

A lifeboat team was called out to rescue two women cut off by the tide on an island in the Menai Strait.

The volunteer crew of the Beaumaris Lifeboat was notified of the incident by the UK Coastguard at shortly after midday yesterday.

The pair were said to be stranded on Carreg Yr Halen Island, near the Belgium Promenade in Menai Bridge.

The two women were picked by the lifeboat team less than half an hour later and taken to be met by members of the Bangor Coastguard.

The two women were said to have suffered no injuries during the incident and the crew arrived back at their station by 12.48pm.
