An increase in Covid cases linked to football and rugby clubs on Anglesey has led to advice being issued by the local authority.

Anglesey Council said its Track Trace & Protect Team (TTP) has seen a rise in Covid-19 cases following sports games or training sessions.

It is now urging clubs to ensure they stick to the rules which include observing social distancing and avoiding unnecessary risks while exercising.

The council said: “We kindly ask that members of the club attend for a test if requested to do so by the TTP team, and that you keep to the recent Covid-19 guidance and regulations.

“Thank you very much for your support and cooperation during this difficult period.”
