Frustration as Llandudno paddling pool closure saga continues
Frustration has been voiced over the ongoing closure of an outdoor pool in Llandudno.
The paddling pool in Craig-y-Don has been closed for 660 days after progress on work to refurbish it is reported to have stalled.
It comes despite paddling pools in Rhos-on-Sea, Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr reopening several weeks ago.
During the warmer months, the pool is normally packed with children and families enjoying the cool water while basking in the North Wales sunshine.
Aberconwy MS Janet Finch-Saunders has now said she will be writing to Conwy Council to ask when the pool is planned for completion.
She said: “This saga has been going on for months now. I was informed by the leader of Conwy County Borough Council a year ago that the pool was weeks away from being finished.
“This is extremely frustrating. All the beautiful weather we’ve had could have been perfect for people to enjoy a wonderful day at the pool.
“Day after day after day, I am getting lots of enquiries from constituents asking when they will get their pool back.
“This is why I have called on Councillor Aaron Wynne, and I will be writing to the council to request a statement with a completion date for the work.”
