Former North Wales headteacher found guilty of sexually abusing girls

A former North Wales headteacher has been found guilty of sexually abusing girls.

Neil Frederick Foden, of Gwynant, Old Colwyn, was convicted of 19 charge relating to four victims following a three-week trial at Mold Crown Court.

The court heard the 66-year-old, who was head of Ysgol Friars in Bangor, carried out sexual offences against children who he should have protected.

Speaking after the verdict, Assistant Chief Constable Gareth Evans said: “We welcome the jury’s verdict following a difficult case and thank them for their diligent work.

“My thoughts remain with the victims and their families today, who have shown dignity and bravery throughout the trial and we will continue to support in moving forward.

Foden has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Monday, July 1st.
