Drugs crackdown in Rhyl leads to nine arrests and seizure of Class As, cash and weapons
Police have made multiple arrests following a crackdown on drugs in Rhyl.
Local officers worked with Merseyside Police on Sunday, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of cash, Class A and B drugs and weapons.
Nine people were arrested in total and a further nine were reported for various vehicle offences, including driving whilst disqualified.
Among those arrested, the offences included: suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B Drugs, suspicion of the theft of a pedal cycle, suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
Among the officers involved were members of Merseyside’s Matrix Vehicle Enforcement Team, who specifically target criminals who use the roads.
Using the latest technology and high spec vehicles, the team can combat crime on the roads throughout Merseyside and target people travelling into other UK force areas, including north Wales.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Naughton said: “This was a really successful day, which underlines our commitment to protecting our local communities from criminality associated with drugs.
“Once again, we have demonstrated that borders will present no barrier to tackling activities that bring misery to our neighbourhoods.
“Our close working relationship with colleagues in neighbouring forces will continue to bear fruit in future joint operations.”
