Driver could face lengthy ban after speeding at 115mph through A55 roadworks on Anglesey

A driver is facing a possible lengthy ban after being caught speeding at 115mph through roadworks on the A55 on Anglesey.

Officers on patrol yesterday morning used their in-car speed detection equipment to register the speed of the white BMW travelling in front of them.

Their speed in the 50mph speed limit entering the roadworks after Llangefni was more than double the limit.

The driver continued at high speed into the 40mph limit where there were a lot of were busy working to resurface the road.

Police said: “The traffic management and speed restrictions are there to protect workers and other road users while essential works are carried out. Please respect them and adhere to them.

“This driver will be appearing before court and faces a potential lengthy driving disqualification.”
