A drink driver has been arrested after almost crashing while travelling on the wrong side of the road on Anglesey.

The 31-year-old man was picked up by police officers while driving along the A5 near Valley last night.

Fortunately members of North Wales Police’s roads policing unit were able to stop the vehicle safely and there were no other road users in the area at the time.

Officers said: “Very, very lucky that nobody was injured. This could have ended much differently.

“31-year-old driver charged with drink driving and he will appear before magistrates court in the near future.

“Rest assured that we are still out on patrol, day and night.”
