Caravan parks in Conwy and Denbighshire are being reminded they are should stay closed as the restrictions remain in Wales.

Officers are liaising with every caravan park in both counties to remind them about the current Welsh Government guidelines.

They are also seeking to confirm the sites are working with the local authorities to ensure that all critical workers are registered as is required, and the security on the sites is being monitored.

Sgt Beth Jones said: “We are working with the caravan parks to ensure they are adhering to the rules outlined in the Welsh Government guidance.

“We understand that there may be some tensions with the situation and want to reassure the public that we are working with the sites, to put people’s concerns to rest if they have been unable to attend and check on their caravan.”

Residents outside Wales are being reminded that the travel restrictions lifted in England do not apply here and anyone travelling into the country will be subject to Welsh legislation.

Sgt Jones added: “Some parks have received high volumes of calls asking if people can come back to their caravans.

“As well as offering support and crime prevention advice, our message is a reminder of the guidance and to encourage compliance.

“We want to remind people that all holiday accommodation in Wales, England and Scotland remains closed, except for some residents who may be there legitimately, such as critical workers.

“Everyone will look forward to welcoming visitors back once it is safe again to do so. Until then please stay home, protect the NHS, save lives.”
