A pub on Anglesey has been hit with an improvement notice for failing to ensure measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 are being observed.

The notice was served on the Kinmel Arms in the village of Moelfre by Anglesey Council as officials said it had “failed to adequately minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus” for both customers and staff.

The document states that it has been issued against those responsible for the premises for the following reasons:

  • Failing to undertake a specific assessment of the risk of exposure to coronavirus at the premises, and in doing so consult persons working on the premises or representatives of those persons.
  • Failing to take all reasonable measures to ensure that a distance of 2 metres is maintained between any persons on the premises, except between members of a permitted group.
  • Failing to control the use of shared facilities for staff.
  • Failing to collect contact information from each person at the premises and retaining it for 21 days. This means collecting the person’s name and telephone number, date of visit and arrival and departure time.
  • Failing to ensure customers are seated in the premises in any place other than at a bar when ordering food or drink, when being served with food or drink, and when consuming food or drink.

The pub has been asked to address the issues within seven days or face the possibility of a fine or the premises being hit with a closure notice.
