An alert has been issued after a man posing as a police officer stopped a car in Denbighshire to quiz the driver about their movements during the Covid-19 pandemic.

North Wales Police say they are aware of an incident where a man is alleged to have stopped another vehicle in the Llandyrnog area by flashing the headlights of his silver Skoda.

Members of the Conwy and Denbigh Rural policing team say there is no evidence to suggest he is a police officer and the car he was driving is not a police vehicle.

They are asking people to report any suspicious behaviour by calling 101.
