A5 reopens after seven hour closure due to collision

Update: Just after 10pm North Wales Police said, “The A5 at Glyndyfdwy near Corwen has now re-opened following the earlier road traffic collision. Thank you for your patience.”

Update: One air ambulance returned to the Welshpool base, and the second helicopter has arrived at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

The A5 has been closed in both directions as of 3pm

The road is closed between Llidiart-y-Parc and Glyndyfrdwy due to a serious collision involving two vehicles.

The Wales Air Ambulance has been called to the incident – with two helicopters being sent to the scene.
