Woman dies after crash involving HGV in Blaenau Ffestiniog

A woman in her 60s has died following a crash which took place in Blaenau Ffestiniog last month.

The collision between a car and a HGV happened on the A487 near Tan-y-Bwlch just before 10.20am on Tuesday, August 13.

The woman, who was driving a Fiat car, was airlifted to the Royal Stoke Hospital with serious injuries.

Police have now sadly confirmed she died last Friday (August 30th) and the coroner has been informed.

A dog which was travelling in the car was also injured, but has made a full recovery.

Detective Sergeant Katie Davies from North Wales Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

“I am requesting anybody who witnessed the collision and who is yet to speak to us, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A487 prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would like to thank all those who have already made contact with us.”
