Woman airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Gwynedd crash

A woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following crash in Gwynedd yesterday morning (Tuesday, August 13).

Police were called by the Welsh Ambulance Service at 10.18am to a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A487 Tan-y-Bwlch, Maentwrog involving a Fiat Abarth and a HGV.

The road was closed and the female driver of the Fiat was airlifted to the Royal Stoke Hospital.

A dog, which was also travelling in the car was injured and taken to a local vet to be treated.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from North Wales Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I am urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who is yet to speak to us, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A487 prior to the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.”
