Warning issued over organisations charging disabled people ‘substantial fees’ to help them get a blue parking badge

A warning has been issued over organisations charging large amounts of money to help disabled people to obtain a blue parking badge.

Isle of Anglesey County Council said it was aware of people offering support with completing and submitting applications for blue badges, which provide parking concessions for those eligible to park close to places they need to get.

The organisations are then charging substantial fees for their assistance.

The council said: “Anglesey residents do not need to use these organisations to apply for a Blue Badge.

“We advise you to use the free Blue Badge service provided by Isle of Anglesey County Council.

“Please use the free online application service www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge, telephone an officer 01248 752115 or email Bathodynglas@anglesey.gov.uk and we will be happy to support.”
