Two students from Liverpool have been summoned to court after trying to visit a North Wales beauty spot during lockdown.

The pair were stopped by officers in Conwy yesterday whilst attempting to get Swallow Falls near Betws-y-Coed.

They were reported for summons for breaching Welsh COVID-19 legislation and sent back to Liverpool.

Police have also issued a reminder advising trick or treaters to consider staying at home this Halloween to keep people safe from the coronavirus.

The region’s police force said it wanted members of the public to “respect, protect and enjoy” themselves today.

With restrictions in place due to Covid-19, they also want individuals to protect the emergency services by reducing demand.
