A trio from Bolton were told to return home after asking police in Snowdonia to recommend “nice places” for them to visit.

Members of the rural crime team were flagged down by three people in a car.

After stopping, one of them said: “Excuse me officer, can you recommend some nice places for us to visit?”

The officer replied: “Yes, there are plenty on your way home”

It is yet another example where the Welsh coronavirus regulations don’t appear to have filtered through to England.

North Wales Police have also been dealing with reports of day trippers from Liverpool, Manchester and Widnes.

They were moved on and sent home after being found on beaches in Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea & Llandudno.

The force said: “We know the sunny and warm weather is enticing but this is a reminder that restrictions in Wales remain.”
