A man who died following a collision on Church Street in Rhyl on Friday morning has been named. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

Patrick Joseph McDonald, known to everyone as Vinny, was 82-years-old and lived in Rhyl. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

His family have issued the following tribute to him: ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“Patrick or ‘Vinny’ as everyone knew him was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, he was everyone’s friend and was well known and loved by everyone that knew and met him. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“Being born in Liverpool, Vinny came to North Wales as a teenager seeking work and loved the area so much that he remained, meeting his wife Lilly, who passed away in 2004, raising his children and grandchildren in the area. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“Vinny latterly met Kath who was his companion for the last 16 years. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“Many people loved and knew of Vinny, if he wasn’t known by them for being the bar manager in many of the local pubs or knowing him for being the best barber in Rhyl, Vinny would have been latterly seen walking in Rhyl area up until his untimely death.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

The family have been described as being “devastated” by his death and request that their privacy is respected during this difficult time. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

PC Huw Capper of the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: “We continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision which happened at around 9.45am on Friday 21st of October, on Church Street in Rhyl. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

“We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Patrick’s family and friends at this time.” ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌
