UPDATE: Missing Abergele pensioner found “safe and well’

UPDATE: Police have issued a brief statement saying “Roy Giblin has been found safe & well. Thank you for your assistance.”

Police have confirmed that the search for a missing Abergele pensioner is still ongoing with drones brought in to assist.

Mountain rescue teams are also helping to try and find 80-year-old Roy Giblin, who is understood to have gone missing on Monday evening.

He is described as being thin with grey hair and was last seen wearing a blue jumper and grey trousers.

Officers said he may have used public transport to travel in the north Wales area.

North Wales Police said: “We would like to thank the public for the offers of assistance in our search, but at present, we would ask people to just be observant for any sightings of Roy.

“If you have any information please contact us on 101 or via our live webchat quoting reference Z080884.”

Lifeboat volunteers from Rhyl started searching for Mr Giblin at around 3am this morning, with coastguard teams looking onshore.
