Police urge people not to speculate on jet ski incident which resulted in woman’s death
Police have urged people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding an incident which resulted in a woman’s death on the Menai Straits.
North Wales Police are continuing to investigate a collision between a boat and a jet ski last Saturday, which resulted in the death of Jane Walker.
The 52-year-old from the Staffordshire area was a passenger on the boat and was taken ashore after being injured for treatment by an ambulance crew. Despite the best efforts of medics, she later died.
Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed or recorded footage of the incident to contact them.
DCI Brian Kearney said: “North Wales Police are aware of an increased use of recreational vessels of our coast this summer.
“Following this tragic incident, can I please ask members of the public not to speculate on social media as to the circumstances of this specific incident.
“The exact circumstances will be established after a full and impartial investigation by the respective agencies involved, and I would continue to ask for the grieving family’s privacy to be respected.”
