Police move to ease community concerns following overnight presence in Blaenau Ffestiniog

Police have moved to ease community concerns following their presence in Blaenau Ffestiniog overnight.

Officers were called to an incident at a property in the Llain y Maen area of the town at around 1.50am this morning.

A 49-year-old woman was later arrested although no further details of the nature of the incident have been made available.

However, police have stressed there is no risk to people living locally.

In a Facebook post, members of the Gwynedd south policing team said: “We’re aware of the concerns surrounding the police presence at Llain y Maen, Blaenau Ffestiniog in the early hours of this morning (03/02).

“We were called to an incident at a property in the Llain Y Maen area of Blaenau Ffestiniog at around 1.50am this morning which resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old woman.

“There may be a further police presence in the area today whilst we conduct enquiries.

“Please be reassured that there is no further risk to the wider community.”
